The Slapin-Solomon Duo has performed throughout the U.S., including appearances at the International Viola Congress and as artists in residence at the Montalvo Arts Center in California. Scott and Tanya won Best Chamber Music Performance for 2008 at the Big Easy Entertainment Awards in New Orleans. They have commissioned, premiered and recorded new works for two violas by Gerald Busby, Richard Lane, Patrick Neher, Frank Proto and David Rimelis, and their debut CD Sketches from the New World: American Viola Duos in the 21st Century was hailed as 'absolutely brilliant' in Strad Magazine. |
As soloists, Scott and Tanya made the first complete recording of J.S. Bach's Unaccompanied Sonatas, Partitas and Suites (BWV 1001-1013) performed on viola. Entitled Baroque Preludes, Dances and Fugues, this set encompasses all of Bach's solo music written for non-keyboard instruments and is available on the Eroica Classical Recordings label. |
